Olga Strietska-Ilina is Head of Future Skills at the International Labour Organization in Geneva, where she leads work on skills demand and workforce transformation for the future of work. Her expertise focuses on skills demand and skills development policies in the context of the green and digital transitions, artificial intelligence, trade, and economic diversification.
Previously, she worked at the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training, headed the Czech National Observatory of Employment and Training, and taught international relations at the Central European University.
A widely published author and editor, Olga has contributed extensively to global research on skills, employment, and lifelong learning, including the recent ILO publication Workforce 2030: Skills for Thriving in the Green and Digital Transition (2025).
Her interdisciplinary academic background spans economics, social and political sciences, history, and ethnography, with postgraduate qualifications from the University of Manchester, the Central European University, and Lomonosov Moscow State University.
