Project description
AI WIM for TVET is an AI-powered automation system developed to transform Malaysia’s National Occupational Skills Standards (NOSS) into structured teaching and learning materials for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). The system addresses a major challenge faced by TVET instructors and training institutions: the time-consuming, repetitive, and inconsistent process of preparing competency-based instructional materials manually across different programmes and institutions.
The platform uses a multi-stage artificial intelligence workflow that converts uploaded occupational standards into standardized training materials through automated document extraction, intelligent content structuring, template generation, and AI-assisted instructional content development. It produces complete instructional documents including theory lesson plans, practical lesson plans, information sheets, assignment sheets, and worksheets aligned with competency standards and curriculum requirements.
The project serves TVET instructors, curriculum developers, training institutions, and skills development agencies by reducing material preparation time from several working hours to only minutes, while maintaining standardized, scalable, and human-validated outputs. The innovation also improves consistency in competency-based training delivery, enhances instructional readiness, and increases access to high-quality teaching materials across technical and vocational disciplines. AI WIM for TVET contributes to the digital transformation of skills training by demonstrating how artificial intelligence can improve instructional efficiency, content quality, curriculum implementation, and training readiness.
The project presents a scalable and adaptable model for AI-assisted curriculum implementation that can be localized to different national occupational standards, languages, and competency-based training systems, supporting international collaboration in future-ready TVET and workforce development for institutions seeking practical AI adoption globally.
