A collaboration between WorldSkills International, WorldSkills China, and the Shanghai Municipal Government, the WorldSkills Museum is the first in the world dedicated to vocational skills.
Housed in a beautifully restored textile storehouse in Shanghai’s historic Yangpu district, the WorldSkills Museum melds industrial heritage with modern innovation. Across 2,500 m², its six immersive zones showcase the transformative power of skills and their crucial role in shaping our future.
Begun in 2017 as part of Shanghai’s bid to host the 46th WorldSkills Competition, the WorldSkills Museum project overcame delays during the pandemic to open in November 2023. A dedicated team sourced over 700 global assets — largely from private collections, former competitors, experts, WorldSkills members, and its international archive. These were complemented by local contributions from the Shanghai team.
