Today’s announcement of the Conference programme previews the core themes, priority topics, and enhanced experiences making up WorldSkills Conference 2026 — showcasing the depth of discussion and collaboration participants can expect.
Under the title “Shaping a Skills-Driven Future,” the Conference will take place from 23 to 25 September 2026 at the world’s largest venue, Shanghai’s National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC).
Government officials, policymakers, business and industry leaders, educators, and youth will gather at the global stage of skills to explore how Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) can drive inclusion, innovation, and international cooperation in a rapidly changing world.
These three cross-cutting themes will run throughout the programme, informing plenary sessions, discussions, and interactive formats designed to connect policy, practice, and people.
Session highlights include a focus on AI’s real impact on tomorrow’s workforce, AI in assessment, and innovations in TVET.
An expanded and evolving programme
WorldSkills Conference 2026 will introduce several innovations, including the addition of a third Conference day and an extended agenda featuring new and expanded interactive session formats.
Across three days, the programme will blend high-level plenaries and panel discussions with hands-on best-practice workshops, industry insights, and field trips designed to encourage deeper engagement, peer learning, and real-world exchange. Delegates will also have the opportunity to join a tour of the 48th WorldSkills Competition guided by a former Competitor.
As planning continues over the coming months, the programme will evolve to reflect new insights, additional sessions, and exciting new formats and collaborative projects.
